A Musical Celebration: Violin and Piano Concert at Teatru Manoel for Din l-Art Ħelwa’s 60th Anniversary
Malta’s cultural calendar is set to be enriched with a distinguished musical performance as Din l-Art Ħelwa, the National Trust for Malta, celebrates a milestone—its 60th anniversary. In honour of this occasion, a special Violin and Piano Concert will be held at the iconic Teatru Manoel on June 8, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
This celebratory evening will feature a rare and captivating performance by Carmine Lauri, an internationally acclaimed virtuoso violinist, who will be joined on stage by his daughter, the talented Francesca Lauri, at the piano. Together, this father-daughter duo will bring to life a rich and emotive programme comprising masterpieces from the Romantic repertoire.
The evening’s performance will include works by Johannes Brahms, Antonín Dvořák, Edvard Grieg, Aleksander Zarzycki, Henryk Wieniawski, and Pablo de Sarasate—composers known for their deeply expressive and technically demanding pieces. This repertoire promises to deliver a journey through soaring melodies, intricate harmonies, and fiery virtuosity.
The event is not just a concert but a historical homage to Din l-Art Ħelwa’s legacy. Founded in July 1965, the organisation has spent six decades committed to the preservation and promotion of Malta’s cultural and natural heritage. It is fitting that this celebratory performance will take place at Teatru Manoel, one of Europe’s oldest working theatres, and the very venue where Din l-Art Ħelwa was born.
With the generous support of PwC, this concert stands as one of the main highlights in a series of events marking this anniversary. It’s a moment to reflect on the Trust’s achievements, while enjoying the timeless beauty of classical music in a space that echoes centuries of Maltese history.
Advance notice has been shared with Din l-Art Ħelwa members and supporters, and ticket bookings are set to open on Thursday, March 20. Early reservations are recommended to secure the best available seats.
