What's on in Malta — a real local's guide
Summer is the big season. Between early June and late September, Malta runs an event almost every weekend, and most weeknights too. Manic Malta tracks the international music festivals at Ta' Qali, the classical concerts at Valletta's open-air theatre, free village festas with serious fireworks budgets, beach-club openings in St Julian's, wine festivals at the Upper Barrakka, and the all-night folk singing of L-Imnarja at Buskett.
What we add that the other event sites don't: an honest local note on every page. Whether the parking will ruin your night. Whether the kids will last past 9pm. Whether the headliner is worth the ticket. And — because we run a self-catering in Gzira — a practical line on where to base yourself.
