What it is
The Oratory of the Onorati is one of the lesser-known Baroque rooms in Valletta — tucked behind Archbishop Street, attached to St Catherine of Alexandria's church, and rarely open to the public. The tour on 6 June 2026 is led by Rev. Prof. Nicholas Joseph Doublet, ecclesiastical historian, and runs through the art, the architecture, the recent conservation work, and the room's link to the Collegium Melitense — the Jesuit college that became the University of Malta.
The tour is on Saturday 6 June, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Free entry but spaces are limited — book ahead. Meeting point is the side door on Archbishop Street; the Oratory is up a flight of stone stairs so it's not step-free.
Worth combining with Museums by Candlelight on the same evening (the Heritage Malta sites open from 7 pm). Pacjnku and the Caffe Cordina are both a two-minute walk away for an espresso between the two stops.
