What it is
Maltese pianist Bernice Sammut Attard, now based in Paris, returns for a solo recital at the Knisja Parrokkjali ta' Gesù Nazzarenu in Sliema. The programme is built around the German Romantic line — Schumann, Brahms — with a Wagner-Liszt transcription, a Prokofiev sonata movement and a late-Beethoven sonata as the closing piece.
The concert is on Saturday 6 June 2026, 8:00 pm to about 9:00 pm. The Nazzarenu parish church on Sliema seafront is a Baroque-revival interior with a warm but slightly long reverb — good for the Brahms and Wagner-Liszt material, demanding on the Prokofiev. Free entry; a collection is taken at the end for the church's restoration fund.
Sammut Attard has been on the Paris recital circuit since the late 2010s and her programme notes are usually unusually frank — she writes them herself. Get there 20 minutes early for a seat in the first four rows.
