What it is
The Aurora International Folk Festival brings folk-dance and music ensembles from around the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe to Victoria for a three-day open-air programme on Cathedral Square in Gozo's Cittadella.
The 2026 edition runs Friday 26 June through Sunday 28 June. The main stage sits in front of the Cathedral; an afternoon programme of workshops and short performances spills into Pjazza Indipendenza ("It-Tokk") in the centre of Victoria. Each night carries three or four full ensemble sets, typically running from 8:00 pm until late.
Free, no booking. The Cittadella is a steep climb if you come up from the bus station — the lift at the side of the bastion saves time if you have a stroller. Eat before you go: the restaurants in Cathedral Square fill up an hour before each set.
