What it is
Il-Marc tal-Anglu is Tarxien's opening band-march of the festa of the Annunciation — traditional in form but unusually staged in 2026, with live artist vocals layered over the band-club brass and a synchronised drone show above the square.
The march is on Friday 5 June 2026, 8:00 pm to around midnight, starting from the Tarxien band club and ending on Pjazza Santa Marija in front of the parish church. The drone display is timed to the brass arrangement of the anthem ("Innu tal-Anglu") — usually about 45 minutes after the march arrives in the square.
Tarxien is south of Valletta and a quick bus ride from the capital. Parking on Triq Birzebbuga fills fast; walking up from Paola square is easier. The Tarxien Temples themselves are a 4-minute walk from the festa square — closed at night but worth seeing on the same day.
