What it is
The Xaghra Fig Festival is a one-evening village food fair on the main square of Xaghra in Gozo, built around the fig (tin) — fresh, dried, in honey, in jams, in chutney, in cakes, and in the village's own ricotta-and-fig dessert.
The 2026 edition is on Saturday 27 June, 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, on Pjazza l-Vittorja in front of the Basilica of Our Lady of Victory. Free entry. Stalls run by Xaghra producers and local restaurants line the square; live music from the band Kantera takes the stage from about 8:30 pm, with band-club marches between sets.
Easiest approach is to park at Victoria Bus Station and walk up (about 12 minutes uphill). The Ggantija temples are a 5-minute walk from the square if you want to combine the two on the same evening — Ggantija stays open later during festival weekends.
